Di BBM versi terbaru ini sudah ada fitur 'what I'm listening' yang selama ini hilang dari BBM versi sebelumnya.
Namun banyak pengguna Blackberry type lama (misal : 9000, 8900 dan bbrp type lainnya) menjadi lemot setelah BBM versi 6 diinstal. Hal ini terjadi krn ukuran BBM terbaru ini lumayan besar karena fitur yang ada di dalamnya juga lengkap.
Hal ini mengakibatkan memory internal menjadi habis, karena Blackberry type diatas memory-nya kecil yaitu dibawah 256 Mb. Pada saat BBM 6 ini bekerja dibutuhkan memory internal yg cukup untuk BBM bisa berjalan maksimal. Karena memory internal jumlahnya terbatas, maka Blackberry mjd lemot.
Solusinya adalah downgrade BBM ke versi sebelumnya. Untuk melakukan downgrade langkah2 yg harus dilakukan adalah :
1. Backup kontak bbm terlebih dulu, dgn cara :
- dari home screen BBM klik keypad menu dan cari pilihan backup
- simpan backupnya di folder yg anda pilih di memory card
2. Setelah backup dilakukan, uninstal aplikasi BBM, melalui 'options-aplication' pilih yang 'add-on' di menu pilihan kanan atas
3. Setelah selesai delete aplikasi BBM, matikan Blackberry n cabut batre
4. Instal aplikasi BBM melalui :

5. Lakukan restore backup dgn cara :
- dari home screen BBM klik keypad menu dan cari pilihan 'restore'
- masuk ke folder dimana td file backup disimpan dan lakukan restore
